Installing an Enhanced Thesaurus in WP8

Another great tip from Tips from Element K Journals. Did you know that the default thesaurus  dictionary in WordPerfect only includes synonyms and antonyms? Have you ever wanted more thesaurus options? Well, you can install a larger dictionary file when performing a custom installation. The larger file enhances the thesaurus's search feature by including synonyms, antonyms, word definitions, and sub- and super-categories. To install the larger dictionary, you must perform a Custom installation of Corel  WordPerfect Suite 8. Then:

    1. Select Accessories, then click on components.
    2. Select Corel Writing Tools, then click on components.
    3. Select English Writing Tools, then click on components.
    4. Select Option Files and click on components.
    5. Select Additional Thesaurus Definitions.
    6. Mark the files WTCB80EN.DLL and WT80EN.CBD.

Note: Corel has an article on the Knowledge Base that explains the enhanced search capability.

Installing Additional Language Support in WP8

Another great tip from Tips from Element K Journals. Corel WordPerfect Suite 8 (English version) writing tools
supports these languages: English (US), English (Canadian), French (National), English (Australian), English (United Kingdom), and French (Canadian). The writing tool files for these  languages can be installed by clicking on the Language Support button on the Select Components dialog box during the installation process. This screen appears after choosing a  Typical or Custom installation. After selecting the appropriate language(s), you can highlight the language desired as the default and click the Set Default button. This will configure the language highlighted as the default in the core applications that use the shared writing tools.
